GM Recalls 720,000 Vehicles

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

General Motors is recalling approximately 720,000 trucks, sport-utility vehicles and cars
for two separate defects. In the first recall, some 570,000 GMC Sierra pickups and
Yukon/Yukon XL SUVs, and Chevrolet Suburbans and Silverado pickups will be recalled so that
an airbag module can be recalibrated. The existing calibration could interfere with airbag
deployment in a crash, GM reported.

The second recall affects more than 13 GM vehicle
models built in May and June 2002. The driver-side airbag modules could crack, leading to
poor airbag inflation. This recall involves about 150,000 vehicles. Vehicle owners should
check with their dealers, if they have not received recall notification.
