GM Recalls 65,000 Sport-Utility Vehicles

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

General Motors is recalling approximately 65,000 of its new 2002 model-year Chevrolet
TrailBlazer, GMC Envoy, and Oldsmobile Bravada midsize sport-utility vehicles. The recall
is to repair fuel-line connector fittings that may disconnect at the fuel-filter outlet.

It
only applies to vehicles built during a nine-week period: September, October and the first
week of November of 2001. GM said there have been no reports of fire, claims of property
damage, crashes, or injuries related to the recall. Dealers will replace a
connector-fitting retainer that did not latch onto the fuel filter tube as intended.
