General Motors hopes to rid minivans of an image of buyers as “soccer moms.”
For the 2005
model year, GM will drop the word “minivan” and change the styling of the Chevrolet Venture
and Pontiac Montana to make them taller when they are replaced. Beginning with the 2006
model year, Buick and Saturn will get their own versions.
The front end of the new models
will feature a tall grille and tall fenders, and will be several inches higher than the
2003 Venture. All-wheel drive will continue to be available.
