General Motors has announced its upcoming 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV hybrid, the first new
model using GM’s Dual-Mode hybrid technology.
While current gas-electric hybrids are most
effective in urban driving, Dual-Mode full-hybrid technology is designed to work
efficiently at highway speeds, too.
The new technology should boost mileage by about 5 mpg.
A hybrid version of the Cadillac Escalade also will be added in 2008.
