General Motors will recall about 783,000 2000-2001 Chevrolet Malibu, Oldsmobile Alero and
Pontiac Grand Am vehicles because they may have defective four-way flasher switches.
The
vehicles, of which approximately 671,000 were sold in the United States, may have a
malfunctioning switch for the hazard lights that could prevent them from working properly.
The parts should be available in the first quarter of 2004, GM says. Owners will be
notified of the free repairs by mail.
