Gas Prices Climb Highest Ever

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

Trilby Lundberg’s biweekly survey of gas prices nationwide reports that drivers are now
paying the highest prices ever for gasoline on average nationwide.

According to Lundberg,
the lowest prices for gas were seen in South Carolina, while the highest were found in San
Francisco. Lundberg says the price of gas hit its peak on August 11, 2006, with an average
price of $3.03.

However, the federal Energy Information Administration (EIA) uses a figure
of $3.12 for record gas prices, an inflation-adjusted level reached in March of 1981.
Lundberg’s survey blames refinery problems for the current highs, mainly in Texas and
Indiana.
