Ford has directed dealers to halt sales of new Super Duty pickups with the 6.4-liter Power
Stroke diesel engine. It has also recalled 8,400 trucks already sold, after three reports
of flames coming from tailpipes.
Those that have gasoline engines and older diesel versions
of the Super Duty are not affected.
The trucks will have their software updated to
recognize improper levels of heat in the exhaust system.
