Ford F-150 Named Truck of the Year

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

The all-new F-150 now adds 2004 “North American Truck of The Year” to
its growing list of awards and accolades. It received the award at this
month’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The award is
selected by a panel of 49 automotive journalists from the United States
and Canada.

To be eligible, vehicles must be “all new” or “substantially
changed” from the previous model. The 2004 F-150 received top honors
among 13 eligible trucks.

Fresh off the Truck of the Year award, Ford announced plans to
expand its already successful F-150 lineup with the addition of the 2005
Ford King Ranch F-150 Supercrew.

The F-150 recently became the first and only pickup truck to
receive a “best pick” in frontal offset crash testing, performed by the
Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

To date, its awards also include: 2004 Truck of the Year (Motor
Trend Magazine), 2004 Detroit News Truck of the Year, The Year’s Best
Pickup (USA Today), Truckin’ Magazine Truck of the Year, Money Magazine
Best New Truck for 2004, and 2004 People’s Choice Truck of the Year.
