Since 1998, DaimlerChrysler has sold nearly 1.5 million
flexible-fuel vehicles capable of operating on E85 (a blend of 85
percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline). The company expects to sell
more than 250,000 flex-fuel vehicles in 2007 and nearly 500,000 in 2008.
The latest flex-fuel models from Jeep are the 2007 Commander and Grand Cherokee SUVs, using a modified 4.7-liter V-8.
Chrysler also added E85 flexibility in the Sebring with a
2.7-liter V-6; the Dodge Dakota, Ram and Durango with the 4.7-liter V-8;
and minivans with the 3.3-liter V-6.
