Bridgestone/Firestone and Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company will raise tire prices early next year due to higher costs.
Goodyear North America announced it will raise prices January 1,
2002, by as much as 5 percent on its consumer passenger and light-truck
tires. Medium commercial-truck tires will increase by as much as 3
percent.
Bridgestone/Firestone said it will boost its prices by as much as 3
percent on passenger and light-truck tires. Potential buyers might
consider purchasing early to beat the price increases.
