Father’s Day to Be Big Camping Weekend at KOA

Kampgrounds of America Inc. (KOA) is projecting another good holiday weekend.

“We saw terrific numbers of campers during our recent Memorial Day
weekend,” said Kampgrounds of America CEO Jim Rogers in a news release.
“We had 4 percent more campers during this year’s Memorial Day weekend
compared to the same weekend in 2009, and it looks like that trend will
continue through Father’s Day, the Fourth of July and right through
Labor Day.”

In fact, reservations at KOA parks in North America for the Fourth
of July weekend are up about 14 percent compared to 2009 figures.

Rogers said families continue to seek affordable vacation options close to home, and camping naturally fills that need.

“Camping closer to home is a rapidly growing trend,” he said.
“Where else can you find places to enjoy the outdoors with your family
and friends that also have a ton of amenities such as swimming pools,
kid’s activities dog playgrounds and maybe even outdoor movies and ice
cream socials? It’s a great way to create a lasting memory for your
family this Father’s Day weekend.”

“With 475 locations throughout North America – including the one
right here in your town – KOA is a wonderful place to make a very
special Father’s Day,” Rogers said.
