Electronic Stability Control Can Save Lives

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

Accident statistics show that 15 percent of all crashes and almosty 35
percent of single-vehicle crashes are due to drivers losing control of
their vehicles. Electronic Stability Control (ESC) uses advanced
microelectronics to detect when a driver is about to lose control and
automatically intervenes by dabbing individual brakes and cutting power
to provide stability and help the driver stay on course.

Figures from the Electronic Stability Control Coalition project
that the widespread installation of ESC in the United States could
potentially save between 5,000-6,000 lives and $35 billion in economic
losses annually.
