Dodge Recalls 216,100 Trucks

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

DaimlerChrysler is recalling 216,100 Dodge trucks because of a potential problem with the
driver’s side airbag. The problem has been detected in 1997-2001 models of the Dodge Ram
pickup, plus 1997-2000 models of the Dakota pickup and Durango. The National Highway
Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said that in some of the affected vehicles, sound
muffling material inside the steering wheel could become detached and wind up disabling the
driver’s side air-bag system.
