Dodge Durango Throttle Sticking

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

Dodge is telling its dealers to stop selling 2004 Durango SUVs
because the throttle is liable to stick open. An estimated 21,000
vehicles with either the 3.7-liter V-6 or 4.7-liter V-8 are affected,
but not the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 versions.

According to Dodge, “Water may enter into the throttle cable
housing. If the vehicle is subjected to freezing temperatures, this
could cause the throttle to stick in the open position and result in a
crash without warning.”

Dealers must install a revised throttle control cable before sale,
or bring back those already sold for repair. This is the second new
Durango recall in a month.
