Discovery Convoy Travels the World

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

Land Rover launched an ultimate test recently of their used Discovery
SUVs by sending several intrepid explorers to the far corners of the
globe in 2003 models culled from rental returns.

Certified by company mechanics through a 140-point inspection, the
vehicles, driven by nine Longitude Expedition team members, left from
parent company Ford headquarters on a 32,000-mile trek. Equipped with
standard powertrains, 4.6-liter V-8 engines, hill-descent control and
4WD, the vehicles will journey through 34 countries spread across four
continents.

The Longitude Expedition aims to raise funds for Parkinson’s
disease research, and to promote geography awareness and scientific
projects for school children. Follow the nine-month journey on www.drivearoundtheworld.com as the convoy travels around the world.
