Chrysler, Mitsubishi Issue Recalls

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA)
has announced two vehicle recalls. Chrysler is recalling 43,180 Pacifica
SUVs from the 2005 model year equipped with halogen headlamps, because
they may fail prematurely. Dealers will inspect and/or replace the
lights for free.

Mitsubishi is recalling 65,436 Endeavor SUVs for parking-brake
malfunctions. This recall covers 2004 and 2005 Endeavors. NHTSA reports
that a nut in the parking-brake system may be improperly tightened. The
vehicle could roll if it is parked on a slope and the transmission isn’t
in Park. Mitsubishi will notify owners soon, and dealers will inspect
vehicles and tighten the nut if necessary.
