According to Wardsauto.com, sales of General Motors’ redesigned 2007
Chevy Tahoe were up 50 percent in January — that’s despite a slump in
the large-SUV segment, with sales of Ford’s Expedition, Toyota’s Sequoia
and Nissan’s Armada down significantly.
GM is pushing sales of its new SUV via a large advertising
campaign for the Tahoe, which offers new convenience features and
versatility. The new Tahoe also has new safety equipment and improved
fuel economy, which are important features to consumers, according to
industry analysts at J.D. Power’s Power Information Network. It is yet
to be seen whether the popularity of the new Tahoe will continue despite
the decline of sales of large SUVs.
