Employees of Silicon Valley giant Hewlett-Packard (HP) were required to
take a week’s vacation last summer, so the Far Horizons 49er Village RV
Resort in Plymouth, California, offered discounts to HP employees.
RV sites at Far Horizons, located in the foothills of the Sierra
Nevada Mountains, typically rent for $40 to $43 a night; however, sites
were available to HP employees for an amount equal to HP’s stock price
as of Friday, June 28. In early stock-market trading, HP stock was
changing hands for between $14 and $14.50 a share.
