Buyers Want More on Vehicles

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

A new survey from J.D. Power reports that new-car buyers are
increasingly interested in factory-installed side airbags and satellite
radios. The “2005 Feature Contenting Report” asked respondents which
features interest them the most. Of the 49 items on this year’s list,
side airbags had the most interest, at 82 percent.

Power noted that interest in traction and stability control and
run-flat tires increased, also. Of the newest features put into the 2005
study, satellite radio topped the rankings, with 40 percent of
respondents saying they would like the service in their next vehicle.

Of all features, anti-lock brakes were the most desired — and available — feature.
