Chrysler Extends Warranties

Chrysler recently extended its powertrain warranty from three
years/36,000 miles to a new non-transferable limited lifetime warranty
to the original owner. It covers the engine, transmission and
drivetrain, and applies to most Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler brand vehicles
sold or delivered after July 26, 2007.

Komfort, Trailblazer

Komfort is recalling 41 model year 2007 Komfort and Trailblazer
travel and fifth-wheel trailers because the information provided on the
certification and tire information labels denoting the tire pressure is
incorrect. A misprinted label could lead to improper vehicle loading
specifications or tire inflation that could result in a tire failure,
increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will remove the incorrect
federal certification label and install a new corrected label. The
manufacturer has not yet provided an owner notification schedule.

General Coach – Hensall

General Coach – Hensall is recalling 19 model year 2006-2008
Citation, Citation Resort, and Prestige travel and park trailers because
the gross axle weight rating (gawr) on the federal certification label
is incorrect. The gross axle weight ratings as shown on the
certification label are 5,200 pounds. The actual value should be 5,079
pounds for vehicles with ‘D’ range tires and should be 4,299 pounds for
vehicles with ‘C’ range tires. Overloading or exceeding the front gawr
may create axle fatigue or failure, resulting in a loss of vehicle
control and/or a crash. Owners will be provided a new certification
label. The manufacturer has not yet provided an owner notification
schedule. 07V-318

Toyota Tacoma

Toyota is recalling 108 model year 2007 Tacoma pickup trucks
equipped with four-wheel drive. A section of the rear propeller shaft
may have been improperly cast. The front side of the rear propeller
shaft could separate at the joint and come into contact with the road
surface that could result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the
possibility of a crash. Dealers will replace the rear propeller shaft
with a new one. The recall was expected to begin during August 2007.

Jeep/Dodge

DaimlerChrysler is recalling 80,894 model year 2007 Jeep Wrangler
and Dodge Nitro vehicles. The Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) was
programmed with software that may allow the engine to stall under
certain operating conditions. This could cause a crash without warning.
Dealers will reprogram the TIPM. The recall began on July 5, 2007.
