Keystone Outback Loft Slides Up

Keystone announced a new innovation at the RV trade show in
Louisville, Kentucky, in late November. A Keystone Outback toy-hauler
type travel trailer will be offered with a 6-foot 3-inch soft-side
slide-up room at the rear, which effectively adds a temporary second
story to the unit. Check for updates on the company’s Web site: www.keystone-outback.com

Fuel Economy Regulation Update

The U.S. Congress may vote on a fuel economy bill before recessing
for the year, although President Bush has threatened to veto it. The
legislation would raise fuel economy standards for cars and trucks to 35
miles per gallon by 2020. There would be separate categories for cars
and trucks during the transition, but a goal of 35 miles per gallon for
all vehicles by 2020.

RV Ownership Growing

According to the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association, despite
high fuel prices, RV ownership is growing faster than the population
with nearly one in 12 U.S. vehicle-owning households now owning an RV
with an estimated 8 million in use. Statistics and studies conducted by
RVIA also suggest that growth in the RV marketplace is likely to
continue, with the number of RV-owning households rising to 8.5 percent
by 2010.
