Ford to Develop New V-8 Engine
Ford is said to be developing a big new V-8 engine to compete with
Dodge’s 5.7-liter Hemi V-8. The new engine will displace about 6.2
liters, larger than Dodge, Chevrolet and Nissan. Ford also says it’s
bringing out 11 new powertrains in the next few years
No-Name Mercedes Model Coming
Although no official name or other information has been released, a
new compact Mercedes-Benz model is expected to be introduced in the
United States during 2005. Believed to combine small sport-wagon design,
it will be offered with up to five engine options and three roof
designs.
Dodge May Offer Jeep Liberty Version
Dodge may start selling a version of the Jeep Liberty SUV.
Although company officials have not confirmed this yet, strong rumors
say that Dodge will offer a restyled model using mostly Liberty
components. The new SUV will likely appear in 2006.
