Chrysler to Drop Some Models, Add Others

As part of the company’s restructuring and to reduce costs,
Chrysler will drop four different models in 2008. The Chrysler Pacifica
and Crossfire, the Dodge Magnum, and the convertible version of the PT
Cruiser will be eliminated. In addition, Chrysler will add two all-new
products: the Dodge Journey and Challenger, plus two new hybrid models
of Chrysler’s Aspen and the Dodge Durango next year.

New Engines for Upcoming Ford F-150?

The new F-150’s styling is said to include a mild restyle with
bigger fender flares and a domed hood. Along with Ford’s new 4.4L Lion
diesel, strong rumors have either or both of Ford’s new 5.8L and 6.2L
Boss V-8s being optional in the new F-150.

Hummer to Get H3T Pickup

General Motors has announced that it will build a Hummer midsized
pickup truck, based on its H3T SUV. The new pickup will be larger than a
typical midsize truck, with a fully functional bed and is expected to
be a four-door along the lines of the larger H2 SUT. The H3T will
probably come with a 3.5-liter in-line five-cylinder, and the new
5.3-liter V-8, along with a wide range of accessories. Look for the H3T
at dealers in the fall of 2008.

Ford Can’t Supply Parts for Recalled Cars

Ford is recalling approximately 1.25 million vehicles for
cruise-control problems; however, it reports that it will not have
enough parts to repair the vehicles until late this year. The models
affected by the recall are 1992-97 Lincoln Town Cars, 1992-97 Crown
Victorias, 1992-97 Mercury Grand Marquis, 1993-95 Ford Taurus SHOs,
1993-98 Lincoln Mark VIII and the 1994 Mercury Capri.

Silver Most Popular Color

A new study by PPG Industries shows that silver is still the
favorite color for North American car buyers. While 22 percent prefer it
to white (19 percent), silver’s popularity has dropped slightly from
last year. Black at 15 percent has gained two points, red is 13 percent,
blue 12 percent, naturals 10 percent and green 5 percent.
