Mitsubishi’ s seven-passenger Montero SUV will be discontinued
after the 2006 model. However, a new seven-passenger Outlander with a
250-hp V-6 will take its place in 2007.

Chrysler Will Get Durango-based SUV

Chrysler dealers will soon offer a new version of Dodge’ s Durango
seven-passenger SUV. The new model will have some extra luxury
upgrades, but should share most mechanical features with the Durango.
It’ s expected to go on sale later this year as a 2006 model.

Electrical Problems Cause 32% of Warranty Claims

According to some experts, vehicle manufacturers spend
approximately $2 billion to $3 billion per year fixing computer-related
problems. Recent repair data shows that 32 percent of automotive
warranty expenditures are for electronics-related concerns.

Porsche Hybrid May Be Coming

Porsche says its plans for a hybrid vehicle will be announced in
mid-September. Strong rumors say a hybrid version of the company’s
Cayenne SUV will be introduced around 2008, when the next generation of
the Cayenne SUV bows in.
