Detroit’s Big Three automakers — General Motors, DaimlerChrysler and
Ford — are ending their “Employee Discount for Everyone” consumer
incentives programs.
General Motors’ program will end on September 30;
DaimlerChrysler’s program will end October 3; and Ford said its program
for 2006 models will end immediately, while 2005 models will be included
until October 3.
Ford is adding a cash-back incentive on some 2005 vehicles. In
addition, Ford is adding a $1,000 rebate to some 2005 models. GM says it
will lower prices, but future incentives are not ruled out.
