A new study by Booz Allen Hamilton indicates that hybrid powertrains may
be built into 20 percent of all cars by 2010. The study says that
rising gas prices are changing the hybrid’s economics.
If automakers adopt hybrids as quickly as they did airbags and
anti-lock brakes, hybrids could account for 20 percent of all vehicles
by 2010 and possibly 80 percent, if the numbers are run out to 2015.
