Alabama Campground Goes High-Tech

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

River Country Campground, located along the Coosa River in Gadsden, Alabama, is being
billed as one of the first campgrounds to offer a complete high-speed wireless Internet
connection. James Knight, campground owner, says RVers who are taking part in the beta test
of the technology obtain a special PC card from the campground office, insert it into the
appropriate slot in their computers, and have instant online capabilities. RVers can then
enjoy surfing the Web from the convenience of their RV, without the hassle of hooking up
phone lines or trekking to the campground office with their computer each time they want to
go online. Knight said he expects to rent the cards for $5 to $10 a day.
