AARP Names Camping World Top Company for Mature Workers

In releasing its first annual list of the top companies for older workers, the American
Association of Retired Persons (AARP) named 11 employers that stand out for improving
retirees’ health benefits, allowing flexible work schedules, having mentoring programs or
successfully recruiting workers who are age 50 and over. Camping World of Bowling Green,
Kentucky, was one of the companies named. As a national retailer of RV products and
services, Camping World operates 30 retail locations across the country and is by far the
largest catalog operation in the RV industry. Other employers AARP cited include Chicago
banking firm ABN AMRO; Avis Rent-A-Car, in Parsippany, New Jersey; Baptist Health Systems
in Coral Gables, Florida; Hyatt Hotels; Prudential Insurance; Houston’s Foley Department
Stores; RESTART Temps in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania; Giant Eagle grocery store chain in
Pittsburgh; MITRE Corporation, a not-for-profit technology resource in Bedford,
Massachusetts; and Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon.
