AAM Lists Alt-Fuel Vehicles

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

The Alliance of Automotive Manufacturers (AAM) — a trade group that
represents automakers including BMW, GM, Ford, DaimlerChrysler, Toyota
and Mazda — has launched a Web site (www.discoveralternatives.com)
listing vehicles that run on alternative fuels. The industry says there
are more than 40 alternative-fuel models for sale that use gas-electric
power, diesel or ethanol from processed corn, and 35 more will be
introduced within the next year.

Some 8 million alternative fuel vehicles are in use on U.S. roads
today, including approximately 5 million vehicles capable of running on
E85 — a fuel made of 85 percent ethanol.
