2009 Jayco Eagle Super Lite

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

Jayco’s Eagle product line has been a popular upgrade over entry-level trailers for quite some time. So, following the recent trend toward lighter-weight trailers, it was only natural for the company to unveil Eagle Super Lites in 2009.

Eagle towables are generally known for more-upscale amenities and high-quality construction. The Eagle Super Lite continues this tradition, boasting standard features like vacuum-bonded laminated side walls, upgraded hardware and oak raised-panel doors throughout.

The 2010 256RKS pictured here features a front-queen-bed configuration, with two separate entry doors: one in the bedroom, and one at the rear of the trailer opening into the kitchen – the entry most likely to handle the lion’s share of traffic.

The galley features a three-burner stove, microwave, dual-basin sink and plenty of cabinet space. The 6-cu-ft refrigerator shares the streetside slideout with the convertible J-steel sofa, spacious wardrobe and overhead storage.

Across the trailer, curbside, is the four-person dinette with standard 19-inch HDTV above for indoor entertainment. The bathroom is located amidships and offers enough room to get the job done.

The master bedroom area is separated by a bifold privacy door. The queen bed is comfy enough, and there’s plenty of storage space provided by the matching wardrobe cabinets and drawers. Options for the Eagle Super Lite include heated holding tanks, a 15,000-BTU air conditioner, a portable grill for outdoor cooking and a water-purification system.

Pricing was unavailable at press time, but 2009 models began at $26,429.

The Eagle Super Lite can be towed by the family truck, offers sleeping for up to six and has plenty of upper-tier amenities – all of which add up to a solid choice for extended-weekend getaways.
