10-Minute Tech: No-Fail Support Block

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

I noticed that my neighbor’s A-frame jack had sunk into the asphalt driveway because the wood had failed. I made a support block from layers of 2×4-inch lumber, screwed and glued together. I finished with a 4-inch-round steel electrical plate cover. The A-frame jack now sits on the plate and is very secure. It has worked well, both at home and away. I hope this idea will help other RVers so they won’t have to deal with broken boards or sunken A-frame jack supports.
