The Keystone Cougar is one of those models that has been around for a long time, but only continues to get better. A pillar of the Keystone line-up, the Cougar is offered in both travel trailer and fifth-wheel options, with regular updates to its design, manufacturing process, and features that keep it from feeling stale or mundane. Nowhere is this more evident than with the newly added Keystone Cougar Premium 295RDS floor plan, which features some amazing amenities in a very enticing package.

Measuring 33′ 11″ end-to-end, and with a GVWR of 14,000 lbs, the 295RDS is relatively small for a fifth-wheel, although Keystone has managed to pack it full of thoughtful features. Those include a primary bedroom in the front that comes standard with a queen-size bed, with a king mattress available as an optional upgrade. A massive wardrobe and a sliding dresser provide ample storage, with a built-in laundry hamper and washer/dryer prep providing additional value. The bathroom, which includes a linen closet, toilet, sink, large vanity, and a residential-style shower, is found nearby.
The rear of the trailer is dominated by a well-designed kitchen and an open and airy living room space. This section feels modern and comfortable, thanks to a massive L-shaped sectional sofa—which converts to a bed—and a freestanding table with two chairs. The entertainment center includes a 65″ TV surround by ambient LED lighting and mounted above a fireplace. A pantry and numerous cabinets and drawers provide excellent storage space in the kitchen, which is furnished with solid surface countertops and a black stainless steel undermount sink. A 21″ glass-topped Furrion range, convection microwave, and a residential refrigerator round out the appliances.

While the Cougar Premium fifth-wheel trailers aren’t exactly four-season rigs, Keystone has given them an HVAC system that maintains comfort in a variety of conditions. The Furrion 18k BTU Chill Cube with heat pump keeps things cool, while a second 15k ducted air conditioner is found in the bedroom. A 30k BTU ducted furnace warms the RV in colder conditions, while a 60k tankless on-demand water heater provides hot water at all times. Other features of note include an electric four-point auto leveling system, heated holding tanks, dual awnings, and a Winegard Air 360+ roof-mounted antenna.
As usual, the long list of specs and features rarely do any rig justice. It also helps to give a sense of the space found inside the RV, which feels larger than its length would imply.
