In case you haven’t noticed, lightweight toy haulers are having a moment. Over the past year or two, we’ve seen an increasing number of new models that are light enough to be towed by a wide variety of vehicles, but still offer the flexibility and storage capacity we’ve come to expect from a toy hauler. And now, we have an intriguing new option to check out in the form of the Keystone Coleman Light 23TX, which bucks tradition to a degree by moving the garage to the front of the trailer.

The video above takes on a tour of this new rig, which is so new in fact that it isn’t listed on the Keystone website at the time of publication. Hopefully, we’ll get more official information on this rig soon, but according to the YouTube clip, the travel trailer—that’s right, this isn’t a fifth-wheel toy hauler—measures 27′ 11″ in length, has a GVWR of 8500 lbs, and a dry weight of 5120 lbs, and comfortably sleeps six. As noted above, the garage is located in the front of the floor plan and has a cargo capacity of 1250 lbs. The door/entry ramp folds down from the side and reportedly converts to a patio with a special accessory kit. The garage also includes two folding bunkbeds and plenty of cargo space for bikes, a motorcycle, other outdoor gear, or just about anything else you want to bring on your adventures.
A sliding door separates the garage/bunk room from the rest of the trailer, which is occupied by the kitchen, living room, and other spaces. The primary sleep space is found in a rear slide, where a spacious and plush queen-size bed resides. A small dinette sits opposite a jack-knife sofa, both of which sit beside the kitchen, where you’ll find a two-burner stove, convection microwave/air fryer, stainless steel sink with high-rise faucet, and 12V fridge. The bathroom includes the usual toilet, sink, shower, and a storage cabinet, while other storage options—including a dedicated pantry—are found throughout.

Overall, Keystone did a great job utilizing the layout of this travel trailer, packing in a ton of functionality to a relatively small amount of space. The garage itself gives the rig a high degree of versatility, allowing owners to not only bring all of their favorite gear but also utilize the open area as a workroom, a second dining area, a dedicated kids’ room, or anything else they can dream up.
