Winterization Tip: Do a Deep Clean

Giving your RV a deep clean is one of the best things you can do before storing it for the winter. That means washing (and waxing) the exterior, emptying out storage compartments, vacuuming the floors and scrubbing out the refrigerator. You’ll also want to clean the pantry and kitchen cabinets, wash the windows and thoroughly clean the vents, too. This will make de-winterizing in the spring faster and easier, while also dissuading any rodents from taking up residence over the winter.

Coleman-Mach RV air conditioners

RV Upgrade: Coleman-Mach 18K Variable-Speed Intellicool Air Conditioner

The latest roof-mounted A/C unit from Airxcel brand Coleman-Mach delivers several notable upgrades. In addition to 360° airflow, the air conditioner comes with a built-in soft-start system that lowers power demands at startup. It also produces up to 18,000 BTUs of cooling power and has adaptive compressor and fan speeds to maintain temperatures, all while operating at a whisper-quiet noise level.

Spec Sheet: What’s a Heat Pump?

Many new RVs now ship with an air conditioner equipped with a heat pump. This handy feature allows the A/C unit to not only cool the interior, but warm it, too, by drawing in warm air from the outside. These devices are much more energy efficient than traditional furnaces, with one drawback: They only work well in outdoor temperatures down to about 45°F.
