Bontrager Outdoors may be relatively new to the RV space, but the company is run by a team of industry veterans who are looking to chart their own course. The result has been a number of fun and unique towables that stand out from the crowd. Take, for instance, the Comfort 21PD, a 24′ travel trailer with a foldout rear patio that starts at just $44,000. But we also love the brand’s take on the small and lightweight off-road rig, which comes in the form of the Bontrager Outdoors Drifter 10ROK.

Lightweight and compact in size, the Drifter measures just 13′ 2″ in length and has a GVWR of 3140 lbs., making it easy to tow with a wide range of vehicles. At its heart, the travel trailer is a modern take on the classic teardrop, but with features that aren’t common in a towable of this size. For instance, the Drifter ships with both air conditioning and a furnace, allowing it to comfortably be used in 3+ seasons. And while the interior is mostly a plush bed on wheels, it also includes several overhead cabinets for plenty of onboard storage and entry doors on both sides to provide ease of access. Under a hatch in the rear, you’ll find a galley kitchen with a slide-out griddle, a sink, and a mini-fridge, along with a metal storage cabinet.

Of course, if you’re going to claim to be an off-road travel trailer, you better have the specs to back it up. To that end, the Drifter comes equipped with a welded aluminum frame that is both durable and lightweight. A Norco heavy-gauge steel mainframe and heavy-duty wheel fenders further enhance toughness and performance, while all-terrain tires on aluminum alloy wheels provide stability and traction when wandering off tarmac. The designers at Bontrager Outdoors gave the Drifter vacuum-bonded fiberglass Azdel walls, too, which aren’t often found on an RV of this size and at this price point. Speaking of which, the Drifter starts at just $19,000, making it a very well-equipped option for newcomers and veteran off-roaders alike.

The video above provides a great look at this fun and exciting towable. It shows off all of the Drifter’s features with a complete walkthrough of the interior space, the exterior build, and the galley kitchen. As you’ll see, there is a lot to love about this trailer, which is a definite upgrade for car and tent campers looking to move into the RV space without breaking the bank.
