If you’ve been looking for an all-electric travel trailer for use on your off-road and off-grid adventures, your search may be over. Australian RV companies Retreat Caravans and OzXcorp have joined forces to create the ERV, a new towable that promises to revolutionize the boondocking experience.

The idea behind the ERV was to give RVers the ability to live off the grid for longer periods, even when propane refills aren’t available and shorepower is nonexistent. To do that, the designers equipped the travel trailer with a 14.3-kWh lithium battery and rooftop solar panels capable of generating up to 2,033 watts of power. That’s enough to keep the vehicle’s HVAC, lights, kitchen appliances, and entertainment system running for days.

Inside, the ERV offers plenty of living space and a sleek, modern design. The kitchen—which includes an induction stovetop, microwave oven, and a sink—comes with plenty of storage cabinets, a laminate splashback, and well-lit countertop. The bathroom features a cassette toilet, a fiberglass walk-in shower, and a black basin sink. The trailer even includes a washer and dryer, LED lighting, built-in speakers, and a TV antenna.

The ERV rides on a rugged chassis with an independent suspension rated for rough terrain and off-road tires. It features two 30-gallon fresh water tanks and a 30-gallon greywater tank, along with an exterior slide-out kitchenette complete with an electric grill. A powered awning, dual external speakers, and an outdoor shower are some of the additional amenities.

Retreat Caravans is taking preorders for the ERV, which is available with four different floorplans. The travel trailer is expected to start shipping to customers sometime in 2022 and will be available in the US, Australia, and New Zealand.
