Ever wondered what it’s like to live and travel in a Storyteller Overland GXV expedition vehicle? If so, we have just the video for you. The clip above comes our way via the Mathers on the Map YouTube channel. In it, we get an up close and personal look at one of these impressive campers, including a full tour of the upscale interior.
For the past five years, YouTubers Taylor and Kevin have been living full-time in the custom-built Class B camper van. But since they started that adventure, they’ve added a child to the mix, which was making vanlife a bit more cramped than they wanted. Rather than give up their full-timing life altogether, the couple decided to purchase a larger vehicle, eventually settling on one of Storyteller’s rugged truck-based models. But don’t let the exterior looks fool you, inside this is one spacious and comfortable rig.
The video opens with viewers getting a tour of the inside of the vehicle, where you’ll find a living area with more space than you might think. An enormous U-shaped dinette—that converts into a bed—dominates the rear, creating a lounge space that looks comfortable and inviting. The kitchen includes a two-burner induction stove, a massive single-basin stainless steel sink, a microwave with a built-in air fryer and convection oven, and a sizeable 12V refrigerator with a freezer. Storage is abundant throughout, and the large dual-pane windows provide plenty of natural light.
The vehicle has a surprisingly large wet bath complete with a cassette toilet, sink, and a shower. The primary sleep space is found nearby in the cabover section, where a queen bed rests under a stargazer window. Reading lights and charging ports are conveniently placed throughout, making this a well-rounded place to rest, relax, and recharge.
Other notable features include a pass through door between the cockpit and the camper space, onboard heat and air conditioning, and a touchscreen interface to monitor and control lighting, climate, holding tanks, batteries, and more. The rig comes with 16.8kWh of house batteries—enough to run the A/C while camping off-grid—and 1320W of solar panels, with alternator charging while traveling.
This is just a taste of what the Storyteller Overland truck camper has to offer. To get a true sense of its floorplan, features, and amenities, check out the video above.
