It’s safe to say that the Forest River Airelume line of travel trailers has struck a chord with RVers. The towables have an eye-catching look that stands out at the campsite, while delivering an experience that includes everything owners need, without a lot of superfluous add-ons. Nowhere is that more evident than in the Airelume 260 floor plan, which embraces a beautifully simple design with a family-friendly slant.
The video above gives us a thorough look at this new model, which comfortably sleeps eight even without a slide. This bunkhouse travel trailer includes a primary bedroom at the front with a queen-size bed, a wardrobe, and nightstands on either side. At the rear of the trailer, you’ll find a set of double-over-double-bunks, each with enough room for two adults. They sit adjacent to the corner bathroom, with a porcelain toilet, sink, and shower.

With a bedroom in the front and bunks in the rear, the middle of the Airelume 260 is occupied by the kitchen and living room. Highlights of this space include a coffee nook, a plush sofa, and a comfortable dinette that converts to another bed. Appliances include a two-burner gas stove, a microwave, and a 12V fridge. A surprisingly large stainless steel sink—with high-rise faucet—is also a nice touch, as is the multipole cabinets and drawers for storage. The HVAC system includes a 13.5k BTU air conditioner and an LP furnace, with a 60k on-demand tankless water heater providing hot water. A 200W solar with 30A controller is an optional upgrade.
As you’ll see in the video, the real star of the show is the spacious and airy floor plan that the Airelume 260 offers. The primary bedroom sits behind a half-wall, which makes it less private but really opens the interior, making it feel larger than it actually is. This approach is perfect for families who will appreciate the bunk beds and communal design. And as noted, this is all accomplished impressively without the use of a slide-out.

It features a functional and comfortable interior that isn’t overly crowded with unnecessary things, and yet it isn’t lacking in features. This simple approach to RV camping should appeal to new buyers, too, overcoming obstacles that can sometimes confuse and intimidate beginners. The travel trailer’s slick exterior design should appeal to veteran RVers, as well.
