Traditional fifth-wheel hitches offer excellent strength and security, but are also heavy and difficult to remove, while occupying a significant amount of bed space. Gooseneck pin box and other lightweight models are solid alternatives, but often compromise on ride quality and long-term durability. Demco’s new Recon Stealth model looks to bridge the gap between those hitch styles, delivering a high-quality, rugged product that offers the performance of a conventional fifth-wheel hitch and the convenience of a lighter, more flexible model.
This new design is achieved using a patent-pending folding base that easily collapses down into a small, movable package with a single simple motion. This allows truck owners to reclaim bed space for day-to-day use, increasing the flexibility and utility of their vehicle. And when they’re ready to tow an RV or other fifth-wheel trailer, thelocks back into place in under five minutes using just a torque wrench.

Made from a durable three-piece steel design, the Recon Stealth offers outstanding performance and easy storage all in one hitch solution. Each of the individual components is designed to be lightweight and easy to manage, providing both simplicity and durability. And when the hitch isn’t in use, it stores neatly in the bed of the truck, an RV storage compartment, or on a shelf in the garage. Demco is even introducing a new MOLLE Rack that mounts on the truck bed behind the cab that’s designed specifically for securing the hitch.
The Recon Stealth may be a revolutionary new design, but the Demco team retained a high level of compatibility with its other products. The new hitch uses the same Recon Gooseball mounted design, utilizing the same head, upright, and goose ball attachment system as found in the standard Recon model. That includes Demco’s wrap-around jaw with lock bar and dual-articulation head. It even offers universal fitment for other OEM fifth-wheel and gooseneck prep packages and hitches.
