For 2006, Workhorse Custom Chassis continues its impact on the Class C
motorhome market. Having launched the 14,050-pound gross vehicle weight
rated (gvwr) Chevy Workhorse cab chassis in 2005, Workhorse has become a
full partner with General Motors for two more Class C chassis. GM’s
9,600- and 12,300-pound gvwr models are now Chevy Workhorse chassis.
For 2006, the Chevy Workhorse 12,300-pound gvwr model also will
have a diesel engine option — GM’s renowned Duramax 6600 Turbo Diesel
V8 with 250 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. RVers with a bent toward diesel
can now get one in a Class C coach. Along with the 6.0L Vortec
gas-engine powerplant, consumers can get the same performance as a
high-end SUV or pickup, only with a chassis designed for motorhome
drivers.
