Vancouver to Open Temporary Beach RV Parks for 2010 Winter Olympics

Originally Published in MotorHome Magazine

VANCOUVER, Canada – Next February temporary RV sites are being made
available for visitors wanting to enjoy the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in
Vancouver, Canada. The Vancouver Park Board has designated two of the
most spectacular beach locations on the West Coast for RV
accommodations.

Visitors will have easy access to the 2010 Winter Games, as well as
all the wonderful things Vancouver has to offer; using their RV as
“home base” at picturesque Spanish Bank or Jericho Beach. These
beachside locations offer fabulous views of English Bay, the Vancouver
skyline and the nearby snow-capped mountains of the North Shore.

RV accommodation is an affordable alternative to staying in hotels
or rental homes. With a temperate climate similar to Seattle it will be
possible for visitors to bring their RVs to Vancouver and have a
comfortable winter experience in what is considered one of the most
beautiful cities in the world. Evenings can be cool so bring extra
blankets!

The two beaches are located close to Vancouver’s downtown core,
where many Games’ activities will take place. There will be a free
shuttle to take patrons to a nearby bus route with easy 15-minute access
to downtown and the new subway service to other venues.

Rates for the 365 RV sites will be $95 per night (Canadian) plus
GST. This price includes a mobile sewer pump-out service every 3 days,
access to a propane refill service and potable water refill. There are
also, on-site food services, a free shuttle, and access to public
washrooms with showers at each location.

Duckworth Management Group has been retained by the Vancouver Park Board to manage the 365 temporary RV sites.
