Tropical Palms Resort and Campground

At a time when many businesses in Central Florida are cutting back, Tropical Palms Resort and Campground in Kissimmee is reinvesting proceeds back into the property by completing a $1-million renovation project.

Since taking over operations in September, Royalty Resorts (Tropical Palms’ new management company) has executed a variety of aesthetic and structural improvements – including repaved roadways, refreshed tropical landscaping, redesigned lobby/check-in area, new paint throughout the resort, a children’s playground with all-new equipment, a new game center and arcade, and the replacement of 30 rental cottages.

In addition to the structural and aesthetic upgrades, the pet-friendly resort added a dog run zone and a complimentary pet washing area.

With Phase I renovations complete, resort management is planning more improvements in 2009. “Next year we plan on upgrading the infrastructure of the park, adding a gated entrance and completing general maintenance to the existing buildings,” said Tim Deputy, Tropical Palms regional director. “We are continuing to improve and enhance the property to ensure our guests have the best vacation experience possible.” In keeping with that promise, 30 brand new park-model cottages have been delivered at Tropical Palms. Especially popular among long-term guests, these 500-square-foot movable resort cottages are fully furnished and provide all the amenities of home. On that note, Deputy adds that the atmosphere at Tropical Palms is different from that at hotels and motels. “There is a neighborhood feel here, it’s a safe place for children to play and for parents to bring their adult toys, motorcycles and jet skis,” he said.

The resort comprises 200 vacation cottages and 375 RV sites on 60 acres characterized by towering oak trees. Cottages are available for rental or purchase and can accommodate four to six guests. Pet-friendly cottages are available.

Resort amenities include a poolside cafe, general store, heated swimming pool, kiddie pool, recreation hall, children’s activity and arcade area, and volleyball, shuffleboard and horseshoe courts.

Located near Disney World and Kissimmee’s Old Town, Tropical Palms also offers a convenient shuttle service to other world-famous Orlando attractions (for a nominal fee). In addition, the resort’s on-site guest services department sells tickets to area theme parks to make it easier for guests to relax and enjoy their stay in Central Florida.
