The Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum, in the shadow of the new Camden Yards in Baltimore,
Maryland, is — in baseball parlance — a triple play. Not only do you get to visit the
room where one of the game’s legendary players was born, but you also can visit rooms
dedicated to the great Baltimore Colts and Baltimore Orioles teams.

Ruth Jr. was born February 6, 1895. From humble beginnings, he became baseball’s greatest
star. Babe produced dozens of Major League records, including his 1927 single-season
home-run total of 60 and his lifetime home-run mark of 714.
In 1958, the Baltimore Colts
claimed the National Football League championship with a sudden-death victory over the
Giants at Yankee Stadium in what would become known as “the greatest game ever played.” The
Baltimore Orioles’ winning tradition dates back to the mid-1890s, when a team featuring six
future Hall of Famers won three straight National League pennants to become one of
baseball’s first great dynasties.
