Q: I saw the letter from Larry Thompson in the December 2012 issue about the brakes on his SunnyBrook locking up. I had a similar issue, and it also happened after having the backing plates worked on. It turned out to be that the backing plate had not been seated properly and it was warped, causing the lockup. At least twice I cut the wire to that wheel magnet to prevent application and subsequent lockup, and then took it in for service. It was the second time that he discovered the warped backing plate.
