The 2008 Cross Country from Sportscoach offers a rear diesel motorhome
at a cost comparable to many gas coaches. A major new development for
Cross Country is the change from a 300-hp engine to the Cummins ISB
340-hp diesel. This 6.7-liter engine produces 660 lb-ft of torque. The
Freightliner chassis features an Allison MH-2100 six-speed transmission
and full air-ride suspension and air brakes. An integrated exhaust brake
reduces wear on the service brakes.
Sportscoach redesigned its front and rear end-caps and offers
three optional full-body paint schemes. An upgraded 6.0-kw diesel
generator provides plenty of power.
Cross Country has one double-side model, and new for 2008 is
the 383FWS full-wall slide model. The galley features polished,
solid-surface-look countertops with flush sink covers and an optional
convection microwave oven.
