Sportscoach Offers Less-Than-$100K Diesel

Originally Published in MotorHome Magazine

In a move to bring more players into the game, Sportscoach, a division
of Coachmen Recreational Vehicles (coachmenrv.com), has announced a
major deal that’s sure to shake up the entry-level diesel league. While
costs of most Class A power hitters continue to increase, aspiring RV
enthusiasts can now move up to the majors for less than $100K — five
dollars less, to be exact.

The 37-1/2-foot Sportscoach Cross Country 354MBS, which debuted
at the annual Louisville RV trade show last December, comes
well-equipped with a dinette/sofa slideout, 27-inch color television,
air-ride suspension, air brakes, microwave (with range and oven) and
hitch receiver. Also included are day/night shades, deluxe stereo CD
player, 5.5kW AC generator and rock-guard front-end protection. All this
rides on a Freightliner XC chassis powered by a 300-hp
Cummins/six-speed Allison transmission combination.

According to Mike Scheetz, Sportscoach’s vice president of
sales and marketing, “The response has been tremendous — we can’t build
them fast enough.”
