RVing Around The Big Easy

Originally Published in Trailer Life Magazine

Heading to a big city like New Orleans in an RV can be a daunting experience. Finding a parking spot, navigating narrow old roads and scores of people can turn a great trip into a stressful situation.

But with some planning, an RV trip to The Big Easy can be a wonderful experience.

Travel & Leisure ranked New Orleans first in 10 categories of their 2009 “America’s Favorite City,” so there is plenty to do for everyone. There are countless restaurants such as famed bistros like Casamento and the ritzy Galatoire’s. For some local culture after lunch, visitors can visit The Presbytere Mardi Gras museum to see the collection of gorgeous costumes and fascinating history. Plenty of visitors are happy wandering the French Quarter for a bit of shopping or just taking in the history of the city.

Instead of navigating the narrow historic streets in a motorhome or pulling a trailer, visitors can set up camp at the nearby Pine Crest RV & Motorhome Park. It’s a short drive in a dinghy or towing truck, making for a cheaper stay than one of the metropolitan hotels.
