Regency GT 27′

A simple cornerstone to marketing is to identify a void — then fill it. That’s essentially
what Triple E Recreational Vehicles accomplished with its new low-profile Regency Grand
Touring coach. The Canadian concern already offered a number of diesel- and gas-powered
Class A coaches, as well as a well-received Class C in four sizes. As Ernie Penner, Triple
E’s sales manager, noted, however, it still wasn’t adequately covering the needs of two
particular segments of the market. “We’re aiming at two target markets with this coach,”
Penner said. “One is the young RV family moving up from a trailer into the greater
convenience of a motorhome. The other market is older RVers who might be getting to the
point in life where they don’t want to be faced with maneuvering a huge Class A coach
anymore.”

The Regency GT27S differs from its Class C stablemate in two distinct areas: Its
low-profile silhouette eliminates the traditional cabover sleeping location — and the
manueverable new coach is five inches narrower than the 100-inch-wide Regency line. The
narrower confines don’t translate into compromising interior creature comforts, however. A
street-side slideout moves the 68-inch convertible sofa off to one side, opening up the
living room and making room for a couple of additional sleeping spaces. In the rear of the
coach, short wardrobes and nightstands flank the queen island bed; a third wardrobe offers
additional room. There is not an overabundance of counter space in the kitchen, but the
modified L-shaped countertop features a flip-up counter extension, giving the food-prep and galley crew a little more room to work. A three-burner cooktop and a microwave/convection oven provide the chef with all the necessary options.

The bathroom area is split to both sides of the aisle, with a separate shower across the hall from the lavatory — convenient when more than one person at a time needs to use the bathroom-related facilities.

Because the Regency GT is built in Canada (where there is a substantial cold season), an optional XL Package includes insulated and heated holding tank compartments, as well as thermal-pane windows. The GT27S also comes with a factory-installed 4-kW Onan AC generator, satellite dish to feed the 24-inch flat-screen television, exterior shower for cleaning up before coming inside, and an awning — so you’re ready to go, summer or winter.
