On July 17, 2011, attendees of The Good Sam Rally, presented by DISH Network, made an attempt at a new world record for most people high fiving simultaneously.
At the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center in Redmond, OR, exactly 1,798 people made the attempt, which was witnessed by Mayor George Endicott and Eric Sande, Executive Director of the Redmond Chamber of Commerce.
A decision on whether this attempt creates a new world record isn’t expected for several months.
The existing record of 1,790 people high fiving simultaneously was set on Sept. 4, 2006 at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada.
