Q & A: Shore-power Cord

represent?

A. A 50-amp shore-power cord has four 6-gauge wires. The black
one is 120 volts 50-amps, the red is 120 volts 50-amps, the white is neutral and the green
one is a ground wire. When looking at the plug, the two outer blades are “hot legs” (black
and red), the neutral blade (white) is at the bottom and the round pole is the ground
(green).
